Is the race hard?

Not at all! This is a 1.5k run/walk (mainly walk) that is more about the fun than it is the run. The path is paved and flat.

What is the color made of?

Colored corn starch.  The powder is non-toxic, safe, and also biodegradable. As with any substance, you will want to keep it out of your eyes and lungs.  We will provide glasses with registration but you may want to use a bandanna or dust mask for your mouth. (This is especially recommended for our younger runners/walkers).

Is it safe?

Yes

Can I take pictures?

Absolutely!!!  Take TONS of photos and share them with everyone.  This builds excitement for next year.

What about weather? 

The event will not have a makeup date.  As long as its not lightening, we will attempt to have the event in some capacity.

Are kids allowed at the Color Run? 

Yes!  All ages welcomed.

Can my family watch? 

Yes, again everyone is welcome.  They will have to pay to participate though.

Can I wear costumes? 

As long as the costume is not offensive or revealing, you can wear it.  Just remember that small kids will be in attendance.

What time does the color race begin? 

10 am SHARP!

Can I Walk the Color Run? 

Yes, we will likely have more walkers than runners.

Can I purchase more items at the event? 

Yes, we will have t-shirts for sale at the event as well as items like color bombs and color cannons.

How do I volunteer for the Color Run? 

If you are interested in volunteering with the organization or on the day of the event, please email us at SBColorRun@yahoo.com.  Volunteer opportunities include set up, helping during the event and clean up.  We will need volunteers to help with throwing color during the race.  All hours will be certified and can be used for community service hours.

Who does it benefit? 

All proceeds are given to SBISD high schools to help offset the cost of prom.  Our hope is to eventually be such a success that prom will be free for our disadvantaged schools.

What's the price and how do I register for the best day of my life? 

$25 in advance which will get you a tshirt, sunglasses, unlimited color and a bottle of water.  You can go to the “registration” tab on this site to register

Can I refund my registration? 

No, refunds will not be given

Can I transfer my Color Run registration? 

Not at this time.

Can you ship my race packet to me? 

No, we do not have the funds to ship packets but will have a packet pickup before the race as well as the day of.

Can I run with my dog? 

Sure, as long as your dog is friendly and you pick up after them.  You are liable if they bite a person.

Is the race timed? 

No, this is completely for fun.

When is Check-in / Packet Pickup? 

You can begin checking in at 9am the day of the race or the night before from 6-8 in the Spring Woods High School bus circle (facing Gessner)

What is included with my Color Run registration? 

A t-shirt, sunglasses, unlimited color and a bottle of water

What is the color event like?

What should I wear? 

Old pants, tennis shoes and your Color Run t-shirt.  It starts white but will be COMPLETELY colored.

Will the color stain my clothes, shoes, or makeup? 

It should not but may need a couple of washings to get ALL the color out.  If you soak your clothes in vinegar and let dry then wash in cold water, the color should stay. 

Will the color get in my car? 

We will have “air stations” to help blow off the color but yes, there is a high probability that it will go home with you.  Bring a towel for your seat or vacuum it out later.
